INTRODUCTION:

I was visiting San Francisco on vacation with my boyfriend, and after only a couple nights of partying, he decided that he was too tired to go out on the third night. I was hoping to really let loose the entire time we were there, but it was okay. he said that I could go out on my own after he went to bed.

He really must have been tired, because he was in bed by 10, and I definitely wasn't ready to go to bed yet. Our hotel was in what's apparently known as San Francisco's South of Market area, and I didn't know anything about it, so decided to walk around it a bit.

On one of the walls that I passed, there was graffiti that said "HEAD HOTLINE: (415) 777-HEAD" (I took a picture, because I don't have a photographic memory). I obviously had to phone this number to see what it was all about. It turns out it was a pre-recorded message for Blow Buddies.

I hadn't been with a guy in a long time, and since I was with my boyfriend, I obviously wasn't planning to anytime soon. We have an open relationship though, and of course I should have expected there to be some sort of temptation in San Francisco. The Head Hotline it turns out, was an offer I couldn't pass up.

ABOUT:

Blow Buddies has a fantastic slogan on its posters. Reality that creates fantasy. The way that Blow Buddies uses their hotline is a great idea, that I'm surprised more sex clubs in San Francisco (heck, anywhere in the world) don't use more of. The concept of there being a phone number that you can call, and on the other end is a recording that tells you where you can go and get a blowjob is 100% the thing of fantasy. If Big Brother wasn't watching in most science fiction books, I bet this would be a think at the disposal of most of their steely future cop heroes.

It's almost like a booty call, but it requires far less work.

Blow Buddies is obviously a very popular gay sex club, but when I got there, I didn't have to wait in any line like I expected I might have to do. I simply signed up for my membership (they gave me a card, which I still proudly have in my wallet post-vacation), checked my cell phone with the guy at the front desk, and went in looking for a cute guy to give me head. I paid $13 for my membership, and $17 for my entry fee.

The inside of the club was very much what you'd expect from a gay sex club, but it was full of energy and hot guys, so I'd rate it higher than most.

There are many different themed nights at Blow Buddies, but I was only there for their regular weekend nights, which don't have themes.

FEATURES:

-Memberships are available for purchase at the club, in person only (no online sales)

-21+ club

-Cash only, but there's a 24 hour ATM at a nearby diner for you to use if you forgot to take out cash in advance

-Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays are theme-free Blow Buddies nights, which are nights where oral is king, but anal sex is of course also welcome to take place if that's what you're looking for

-Wednesday nights are when you'll find themed nights such as Leather Buddies, Underwear Buddies, Naked Buddies, and even Golden Shower Buddies if you're into water sports

-Hours of operation vary, but Fridays and Saturdays, the club is open 8PM to 4AM

-HIV testing and drug counselling are frequently available at the club (check the online calendar)

-Over 225,000 members

-Blow Buddies logo t-shirts are available at the club in both explicit and non-explicit versions (get the version with the dick!)

-Easily accessible by public transit and taxi cab

-Bear nights happen less frequently than other themed nights, but there are plenty of bears at Blow Buddies on any given night, so you don't need to worry about showing up and not finding a bear to play with

CONCLUSION:

My boyfriend and I had a tonne of fun together on our trip, saw a lot of great sites, and had a lot of really great sex, so for me to say that Blow Buddies was the highlight of my trip would be a bit disingenuous. It was certainly A highlight though, and a spot that I strongly encourage anyone to check out if they're in the San Francisco area. There are surely lots of other great gay sex clubs in the city, but I didn't get a chance to check them out. I can only recommend this one, and say that unless you're looking for a next-level experience that I don't know about, Blow Buddies will leave you very very satisfied.

Pros

I have almost nothing but great things to say about Blow Buddies, which may make my review seem a little fishy, but how can I give a bad review to a sex club that maintains a HEAD HOTLINE??
  
Even though it had been a while since I'd been with a guy, and I was on vacation with my boyfriend, the concept of a head hotline was too much for me to resist.
  
The club was in a convenient spot for me, which was a great help in getting me there.
  
As silly as you might think it sounds to sell t-shirts for Blow Buddies that have a big dick hanging out of the O in "Blow", I think that once you see the logo, you'll change your mind. I bought a shirt for my boyfriend, and he loved it. he said he didn't think he'd wear it in public, but I bet it's only a matter of a few laundry days before he's out at the laundromat wearing it.
  
While the club is largely a rather straightforward gay sex club aside from its fun marketing gimmicks, it's great to see that the owners know that it's important to have the odd theme night such as Underwear Buddies or Leather Buddies.
  
And I know that most men's sex clubs do this, but I always take my hat off to any club that does on-site HIV testing for its members. It's important, and when it's forgotten, it can be fatal.

Cons

Apologies in advance to the owners and members of Blow Buddies. I had such a great time at your establishment, but I need to get a couple tiny gripes off my chest.
  
I wish there had been more private glory holes in Blow Buddies. Glory holes are of course a giant staple in the gay community, and for sex clubs in general, so when I was hoping to find a private glory hole, but had to settle on one where I had other guys standing on either side of me, it was a little disappointing.
  
I also wish that the membership had perhaps included a discount on my first admission. I get the feeling that Blow Buddies is meant to be a spot for locals more than it is for tourists, but I don't know why that should mean that people from out of town should be gouged. It was a tiny gouge, and it was well worth every penny, so I don't mean to complain too much. It's just a thought though!
  
Aside from that, I don't know if I have anything else bad that I can say about Blow Buddies. I wish that their hotline was a toll-free number since my roaming long distance rates aren't the best, but again, I understand that it's primarily a local business, so that would be an unnecessary cost.
  
I had a great time at the club though, and don't have anything else bad to say about it.
