I don't think that it would be hypocritical to say that I really love the Catalyst Sex Positive Club. And so I am going to say it from the mountaintops. I love this club and I am hoping that it will stay open for decades to come because I plan for it to be my escape when I feel bored. I found Baron and Shawn to be the ideal owners. They are always professional and very helpful. I thought that the space was well organized and intricately designed and laid out. It had a registration area, lounge where members could socialize and a dungeon that needs no introduction. That is where I spent a lot of time when I went to the club. The dungeon had a sling room that was s staple to alternative entertainment. It also had a kitchen and I am not sure why along with semi-private rooms. For me personally, this club is home and a treasure to the community. The club is always adding new events that are kinkier than the last one and I cannot wait to see the next month's calendar.

With so many swinger's clubs in the city of Portland, I must say that the Catalyst Sex Positive Sex Club has earned a place in my heart. I wouldn't trade it for any other sex club. I feel like this club has staked a claim in the community because of how respectful the members are in making things very discreet. The club is a lot of fun, especially with so many events taking place such as group sex, dungeon parties, workshops, seminars and kinky parties. There is a lot of space to move around and multiple private rooms to take your sexual encounters. Most of the sex events are kept at a low price; no more than $20 in most cases. If you do help the club to clean up after yourself, then it keeps the cost down. That was what I was told after I had complained about it. Some events force you to engage in potluck meals. I have tried to avoid those and this is only because I am a vegan and don't like to eat elsewhere, but home. However, I do go to some of those potluck events and they are quite an eye opener. The sex parties are sometimes kept in private residences, but some are kept inside the sex club; especially when the event carries a smaller crowd. Pros

There is a host of things that I found out about the Catalyst Sex Positive Sex Club that I thought were positive for me. I happened to have been to the old space and continued being a member while the place was refurbished and that was the best decision that I ever made. I like the new space and all the work that they did on it. It is warmer and even more comfortable, friendly and welcoming. On the walls, you cannot help, but see the body positive artwork, which gives the place a fun atmosphere to play in. The seating is comfortable and there were tons of open spaces to lounge and have conversations with the people I met there. I loved the vibe because once I walked through the door; I could feel the welcome and the acceptance. I like the fact that the owners participate in hosting events, building up the community by volunteering and always making suggestions to make things better for everyone. I go to their website often to see what they are doing and I am very impressed. When I first relocated to the city of Portland, I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to find a place for sex parties to enable my swinging lifestyle, but to my surprise, the Catalyst Positive Club came through for me in so many ways. I love the workshops and the sex parties that come to life because they are so well put together. More importantly, I always feel safe when I am there.

Cons

I don't have a lot to say about whether the Catalyst Sex Positive Sex Club has negative things that you should know about it. However, like any similar sex club, there is always something that may sway you one way or the other. I wasn't swayed to quit though and so that is a good thing. I saw a couple things that could change the way how members enjoy the club, but they are not such a big deal. When I first went to the club, I thought that one particular staff was not kind and courteous as the club owners said all of them would be. I decided to complain about her and it appeared as if the owners spoke to her sternly because after that incident, she was especially kind to me. There was another occasion when I was in the dungeon that a member went over the boundaries that I had set; violating my space. Instead of complaining this time, though, I dealt with it myself; telling the member not to cross those boundaries. And so, the cons that I have experienced are more personal than the fault of the club's owner. One pet peeve I have is that when I am in a sex scene, I like to finish. This swinging club only limits sex scenes to only thirty minutes. I guess it is because they want others to have time to play and at times, the place gets too busy and overwhelming. I like the fact that the club supplies cleaning materials, but why would I want to wipe down furniture and equipment when the club should be providing cleaning services? Well, it could be that they don't want bodily fluids to spread and so I just do it.
