When you come to The Gold Club, you're going to fighting through waves of people who've finished work, and then might have finished attending a sporting event, and then might have still some energy left in the tank after midnight. It's a popular spot, and it's on the small side, which means if you don't come early, you might have to end up standing. And while that's less than ideal, a plus is that you'll never be too far away from the stage. And this is a good thing, because on Friday and Saturday nights, they fly in top talent from Los Angeles, so it's completely possible you'll see a very familiar porn star doing some amazing dancing onstage. Just checking out the list of past and future events was like looking through my browser history.

It explains why cover is $10 (which is still okay) and drinks are a bit expensive. The Gold Club has always had an uphill battle for its reputation, since it's squeezed into an alley and literally does not have much room to operate. But it turns these lemons into lemonade, and we can all drink from the sweet, sweet country of sexy women who come here every weekend. It's at least nice that the place always 'feels' busy because of its size, like you've stumbled across the best-kept secret in town. And when some of those all-star Hollywood glamour models take the stage, you really will think that's what The Gold Club is.

If you're just done work and you want to let off a little steam, or you just saw the Phillies/Eagles/76ers/Flyers play and want to celebrate, then stoping by here is definitely recommended (if you're in the latter group, save your ticket stub, you get in free). The staff there does a great job with what they have to work with, and once you see the action onstage, you'll definitely know you made the right decision for the night.
