I learned about Mistress Lauren Parties through the Kink Shoppe, and adult toy and bookstore that has a workshop area in the back. So I checked out her website, and this was a great introduction, because she outlines her vision and goals quite explicitly, which is great, because you don't really want to find this out after you booked the session. It's good to know ahead of time of things she is willing to do (and considers her own strengths) and what she will not do. Once you send an application via email and have a short phone conversation before your first session, hopefully everyone will be on the same page and the pleasure and pain will begin. She charges $260 per hour, which I think is a little higher than some other dominatrixes in other large cities, but she certainly makes it worth the money.

Mistress Lauren's sessions occur at play-space in an easily accessed Philadelphia neighborhood (the exact location she will tell you once the session is scheduled), and if the website didn't excite you with the possibilities, then her dungeon will. CONCLUSION:

I don't believe in fate or destiny, but the first time I knelt in front of Mistress Lauren, it certainly felt like this was going to be one hell of an amazing and extremely sensual experience, and she did not disappoint. Slowly learning about your sexuality as you get older and realize that you want something kinkier and stranger than the ordinary can sometimes be full of awkwardness and embarrassment, but dominatrixes like her provide a commendable and arousing service that stirs both the loins and the soul.

When you are welcomed into her play space, the rest of the world melts away and you are the mercy of someone who likes to play as rough as you want her to be, and she has a huge collection of contraptions and handcuffs and ropes to bend you over her knee, both proverbially and literally. While sessions can certainly be on the expensive side, it's always worth saving up to fulfill your most innermost desires, and there's no doubt in my mind that if you're into the world of BDSM, then Mistress Lauren should be at its head.

Pros

  • Freelancing BDSM-ing can sound a little bit alarming, since you immediately picture a dominatrix tying you up in your living room, but when it comes to Mistress Lauren Parties, you can rest (or submit) comfortably knowing that you're in capable hands. Just how she was recommended to me showed that she was definitely trusted in the local community, and as soon as you see her play-space, you know you're in for a great time. Sometimes I've felt a bit of awkwardness of small talk before the session begins - especially if it's the first time you're interacting with the dominatrix - so all the info on her website was great. You knows she is putting a lot of work into it, because when I mentioned my foot fetish ahead time, only very slowly did she introduce it into the scene.

    Her play-space is extremely clean and expertly set up, where even just seeing some of the equipment in one corner makes you wonder if you'll get to experience that today, or whether it will be saved for a later session (the first time I was there, I was already imagining my second and third trips). Which is pretty much a perfect feeling for the BDSM experience: anticipation of the unknown.

    Also appreciated was her professionalism and discreetness throughout the interaction before and after the session, both online and in person. It definitely made the session itself a lot more intense when she turned her dominatrix side 'on'.

Cons

  • Unfortunately, being just one very talented dominatrix whose skills are sought after across the country, sometimes it's hard to book an appointment with Mistress Lauren because she's away for a weekend or a whole week, in Boston or Los Angeles or anywhere else. You realize one of the advantages of an actually BDSM club is that there is usually a roster of dominatrixes, so if one is away, another can step into that role. Here, if you're not at the mercy of Mistress Lauren, then you're at the mercy of her travel schedule.

    With her excellent reputation, it should come as no surprise that sessions are $260 per hour, although it is a bit cheaper for women ($220) and couples ($300, because it can be split). Undoubtedly this can be considered quite expensive, and perhaps out of people's price range, but I always looked at these sessions as something to slowly save up for.

    And while this part is not so much a negative, but instead a general warning, it needs to be stated because people still don't fully understand BDSM relationships: there is no sexual penetration or oral sex between the mistress and her submissive. Quite simply, do not contact her if you want to get laid, even if you like to get kinky before sexual activity. As some dominatrixes have told me 'off the clock', while they are appreciative of '50 Shades of Grey' for bringing BDSM into the mainstream, thanks to it some people still expect all fetish play to end with intercourse.
