Given all I've mentioned about Steamworks, it's pretty clear I think it's a great place. Not just great, but the best around really. I know I tend to exaggerate, but when it comes to something on which I dropped my hard earned cash, I don't kid around. I have a VIP membership and that alone should say a lot. Pros

Being the best in town isn't easy, I should know. All kidding aside, Steamworks is the best bathhouse in Vancouver for many reasons. These are easy to understand once you've visited them. The best reasons to me are the safety, the privacy, the fact that they understand that health should always come first, the variety of men who come here with an open mind and looking to hook-up in many cases. I have been a VIP member for a while and the up-charge is absolutely worth it, I don't know if I'd ever be able to go back to Basic membership or Anonymous. Paying for 6 months saves you money, and let's be honest here, in this expensive world, save where you can, even when you splurge on VIP membership. I know I do! Steamworks is a great place to meet a sexy new partner for a day or even someone who you'll see again for a while, at the bathhouse or elsewhere. Nothing says you can't just take things further than their rooms, but their rooms are a great, safe place to start. For me though, in the end, it's all about feeling comfortable in the bathhouse and the sauna. The gym isn't really my thing, I like to train at the gym in my building, but the bathhouse and the sauna are great places to meet men who are playful and willing to take things further in one of the rooms offered by Steamworks. Yeah, it means extra spending for just about everything, but look at it this way: no expensive dates that go on forever just so you can jump in bed with the man you've just met a few hours later, you save time, and you save money in the end.

Cons

The fact that Steamworks is great cannot be overstated. However, there are a few downsides, but nothing major. I'd say sometimes the special events get a bit loud and it's harder to hear a good conversation, so you end up reverting to basic physical flirting with touching and teasing before deciding to head out or head to a room. It's fine most times with the special events, but I think the Saturday night ones get a bit crowded and a bit too loud for my liking. It's a minor issue as I prefer coming here on weeknights as I normally work weekends. The week night crowd is less casual and more filled with regulars so you can easily find the same men a few times here and there if you have really enjoyed each other and want to get a bit more from each other. On the other side of that, if you want to avoid someone who liked you better than you liked him, it can be a bit harder on weeknights, but you can make sure you never bump into them by learning their habits and avoiding them that by coming on a different schedule. Of course this is not ideal, but given the size of the place and the number of men that visit on any given night, it's really easy to avoid someone or just tell them you are not interested anymore. Steamworks puts importance on safety, privacy, and consent, so it's usually not an issue to let someone know you are not into them. Likewise, it's easy to let someone know you are into them and see what they think. The place is very positive that way.
