INTRODUCTION:

My partner and I just moved to Ottawa, and were a little worried that the lifestyle community wouldn't be as strong as we were used to. I got a promotion at my job with the government though (one that I'm not allowed to talk about, unfortunately), so a move to Ottawa was going to happen eventually.

There were a couple options for sex clubs, and the one we decided to try first was Obsession Swing Lounge. Not based on reviews, or word of mouth, but just for the fact that it was a lot closer to our new house than the other options were. So close in fact that we were able to bring a couple home with us after the club closed. We had never lived that close to a lifestyle club before, and spent so much money on hotel rooms. So that was already a huge benefit of this move.

If the scene keeps up being this much fun, we might not miss our old swinger partners that much at all (as horrible as that is to say).

ABOUT:

Obsession Swing Lounge calls itself "Ottawa's finest swinger experience," and after our first visit there, I'm not going to argue with them.

The club has everything that you could want from a swing lounge. A great lounge area with dance floor, and a killer DJ who has all of the latest hits, and not just songs from the 70s to late 80s like a lot of swing club Djs.

The club has a great bar that's fully stocked with just about anything you could want. It may actually be lacking in some of the city's microbrewery offerings, but that's expecting a bit too much from them, I think.

The club is open Friday through Sunday, and offers a full menu of food until 1:30am each night. We ate elsewhere (like we usually do, because bless them, but swinger's club owners usually can't afford to hire good chefs). Maybe we'll try a dessert one night soon through. It's hard to mess up chocolate cake.

With lots of neon lights, private play rooms, group play rooms, showers, and a lounge full of pleather couches that are very well maintained, the club has just about everything that you could want from a lifestyle club.

The bar really even looks like a real bar. Whoever decorated the place did a fantastic job!

FEATURES:

-Extremely affordable membership prices, starting at just $25 for a couple

-Admission for couples is always $35 after purchasing your membership

-Single women can purchase an annual membership for just $20, and after that, are admitted to the club completely free of charge in order to increase the number of single women for the couples to play with on any given night

-Drugs are not allowed in Obsession, and anyone caught using drugs will be kicked out of the club

-Soiled linen baskets are available around the club so that nobody has to be surprised by the remnants of your fun

-Consent is king at Obsession, and anyone who harasses a member after they've been told they're not interested, will be kicked out of the club

-A dress code is enforced, but it's not as strict as many other swinger clubs

-Only members may enter the club at any given time, with no exceptions

-All members must practice safe sex while at the club

-While you're free to be as naked and hardcore as you want within the club, there's a patio that has neighbors, and you must always be dressed and act appropriately when taking in the night air

-No touching other members without first asking

-There are absolutely no photos or videos to be taken in Obsession Swing Lounge in order to respect the privacy of the club's members

-Open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights

-No smoking in the club

CONCLUSION:

That may be a lot of information to take in about a club in one sitting, but I assure you that once you go to the club, you'll be as relaxed and ready to mingle as possible. Obsession Swing Lounge offers a tremendous atmosphere for couples and their single friends to have a great time, without feeling self-conscious about themselves at any point. There's minimal amounts of DIY aesthetic in the club, which makes it feel much more like a legit club, that just happens to be open-minded enough to let its members have sex in it.

The membership seemed relatively friendly, and there were definitely a couple couples that we might try to hookup with our next visit, if they're there.

If unlike us, the location of the club isn't as convenient for you and your partner, you might want to explore the other swinger club options in Ottawa, and see if there's somewhere closer to you.

Pros

We had a great time our first time visiting Obsession Swing Lounge, and there were lots of great reasons to go back.
  
First off, we loved the affordability of the memberships and cover charge. When we saw how affordable it was, we did worry that we might be in for a low-rent evening out, but thankfully the opposite was true. The owners of Obsession clearly have a true passion for their club, and they've put a lot of hard thought and effort into making it one of the best Ottawa swinger clubs that we've seen.
  
Having a full bar with bartender goes a long way with me when it comes to a club creating a really upscale vibe, so I was thrilled to see that there was a bartender on service. When I'm mixing my own drinks at swing clubs and sex parties, I tend to get a little sloppy, and shot glasses become a thing I don't know how to use.
  
The club has very explicit rules about consent that are great. Many other swingers clubs are still using their old rules that they wrote back in the 90s, and you can tell based on the way many members act.
  
There's a great community vibe in the club, which I thought I would miss after moving here. I look forward to further exploring that rapport.
  
The rule that single men must be attached to a couple that they come with is one that's very important to me. My wife is fine wih it, but I tend to get a little back against the wall when a single dude starts hitting on my wife.

Cons

There really aren't that many bad things that I can say about my experience at Obsession Swing Lounge. Maybe there'll be things that I notice the next time, but as it stands, all of my issues were extremely small.
  
While it's great to make the club cheap to single women with their $20 membership and free cover charge, there seemed like there might be a few more single women at the party than we're used to typically. I'm not sure why that is... Maybe the single men in Ottawa just aren't much fun, so it's easier for single women to come to Obsession for some good sex. But the huge number of single women, I found, reduced the amount of partner swapping that was going on. Partner swapping is one of my favorite parts of swinging, and I love watching another man have sex with my wife, while I have sex with his wife. There's a strange eroticism to it, that can't be topped. When you make eye contact with your spouse during the sex, it can be as hot as anything else I've ever experienced. So I hope that there is more of that the next time that we go to the club.
  
And while the soiled linen bins are a great idea, the fact that many of the play rooms are just mattresses on floors, isn't great. I wish they spent a little more effort on making some bedframes for those rooms.
