INTRODUCTION:
Bathhouses are very popular in Ottawa, and when I visit a new city, I think that the popularity of bathhouses is usually a pretty good way to determine how accepting a city is of its LGBTQ community. Or at least to see how big the community is.
With multiple gay spas within its borders, the nation's capital of Canada is clearly full of LGBTQ folk, so my being sent there on business was less of a bummer than I expected it to be when my boss first told me that I was going to meet with a potential client there.
I checked out most of the best Ottawa bathhouses while I was there, but I just want to talk about Club Ottawa right now. It was definitely one of the best spas that I've been to, and its steam rooms for some reason relaxed me more than a steam room ever has before.
There are so many different themed nights that I wasn't able to fully experience everything that they offer, but what I was able to experience, was a gay spa day (and night) that I'm not likely to forget any time soon.
Even though I didn't find the men of Ottawa to be terribly attractive when I was walking around during the business part of my trip, Club Ottawa was full of studs

ABOUT:
The first thing I look for in a gay bathhouse, is how clean it is. I know that's a bit silly considering there are showers there, and you're likely to use them before you leave, but I'm a bit of a germaphobe, and I was very happy with the cleanliness of Club Ottawa. There wasn't a single room that I walked into where I thought, "oh no. This isn't going to work," or "I'm going to need some new sheets in here."
There's a liquor license in the spa, so you can buy a nice beer or mixed drink to loosen up when you first get there. Of course the spa has zero tolerance for drunkenness though, so watch how much you drink, or you may find yourself getting kicked out.
The club offers many different special events, and I wish I had been able to stay longer, so I could have gone back for more. One night that they do is an event called Black Out Night, where they turn off the bathhouse's lights, and you only have a flashlight to find your way around. I can only imagine that there's a lot of grabbing and groping in the dark on those nights, which is very much up my alley (so to speak). I might ask my bathhouse back home if they can do something similar sometime.
The spa is full of all the things you want from a gay spa. Private rooms, group play rooms, showers, glory holes, saunas, video rooms, and more.
FEATURES:
-The spa is restricted to members over 18 years of age, and government identification is required if you look under the age of 25
-Full bathhouse facilities include steam rooms, video rooms, open and private shower areas, lockers, and private rooms
-The spa is body positive, and welcomes body types of all shapes and sizes
-Spa rules require you to put your clothes in a locker, and wear no more than your shoes, underwear, and a towel (wearing less is of course also permitted... nay, encouraged)
-Anything goes rules (provided that consent is given), so things can get a little extreme in certain areas of the club
-The club offers free condoms to everyone, and there's a small sex shop for if you wish to purchase any lube or sex toys
-Food and drink is also available for purchase
-Very helpful staff
-Supports non-verbal play, so if a guest isn't interested, it must be made clear by saying "no thank you" to them
-Rates vary based on the time of day, and day of the week, but all rates allow you 6 hours of access to the spa
-All men between the ages of 18 and 24 get in for half off (this keeps the club full of hot young men looking for fun and savings)
-Cash, debit and credit cards are all acceptable forms of payment
-Closed Christmas Eve after 6PM, and all of Christmas day so that Santa and his elves can take over the spa for a little fun
