INTRODUCTION:
If you're in Singapore, and looking for an LGBT hookup, it can be a little bit overwhelming. There are so many options here, so it's great when a site like HardwareZone.com decides to make itself known as the #1 stop for both computer hardware news, but also LGBT dating within the geek community.
HardwareZone.com is an incredibly popular site because it's a great source of tech news, gossip, shopping tips, and even its own marketplace where you can buy hardware off of other members of the site.
Its forums have thousands of users, and while the chatter is usually about computers, they also have a sub-forum called Eat-Drink-Man-Woman. Both a reference to the 1994 Ang Lee (pre-Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) film, Eat Drink Man Woman, but also a bit of a broken English phrase that suggests men and women going out on dates. Of course that sounds like a hetero dating forum, and there IS some straight dating that goes on here, but the majority of the forum's hookups fall within the LGBT community, so don't worry. I have zero interest in straight people, so that's the last time I'm going to mention them in this review.
I'm a giant computer nerd, so of course read HardwareZone.com. When I found out there was a LGBT dating forum buried in its forum, I had to join!

ABOUT:
HardwareZone.com's Eat Drink Man Woman forum is a peculiar type of dating forum. As a native English speaker, many of the posts on the site read like they might be suggestive in some way, even when they aren't. So when you read a bunch of posts that sound like there's flirting going on, but there isn' really, when you do come across a thread that's very much hinting at a "I'd like to get together to play games tonight", you can be a little uncertain of your reading comprehension.
A quick DM is always the easiest way to confirm that someone is looking for company though.
I prefer a dating forum where it's very clear that that's the main purpose of the forum, but sometimes the people involved in a culture (in this case, computer geeks in Singapore), need to play their cards close to their fest in order to feel comfortable. I've gone out with a couple of really cute guys from the forum already, so while it's a bit of a hassle to find the posts looking for fun, it's worth it in the end.
It's not terribly surprising of course that readers of a computer news site that reports on every new laptop coming out to market from major computer brands, aren't the smoothest when it comes to hooking up with other guys on the internet.
The worst thing that's happened so far to me is that I went over to a guy's house and he actually just wanted to play video games. It was still fun. Just not quite as fun as I was hoping.
