INTRODUCTION:

It may be a little sad of a story to start my review with, but my wife died when I was just about to retire. It was something that I didn't think that I would ever get over. I went into a long period where I didn't know if I was going to ever be able to love again.

When I first visited the site, I was pleased to see how easy it was to sign-up. I really wondered if I was going to have to call my neighbor's kid over to have him help me setup an account. I realize how inappropriate that might have been, but it didn't happen, so it doesn't matter.

Pros

  • It also seems like there are way more single women in my area than I ever expected there to be. It seems as though I had bad luck, and the research that shows that women typically outlive their husbands is very true. So if you're in my position, you should take advantage of this.

  • Some users don't put a picture of themselves on their profile, which I don't understand, but the site has an option to request a photo from them. If you're lucky, you might get one back.

Cons

  • This is a really fantastic website for senior citizens like myself that are looking to get back into the dating world. It's not something that I expected ever needing to do, so it's a bit of a shock, and this site has made the experience very easy on me.

    


  • I wish it was easier for me to figure out how to block people on the site. It actually didn't take me very long to figure out, but remember my wife's friend, Mary? Well she sent me a message telling me how glad she was to see me on the site, and that we should get a coffee sometime soon. ... I figured out how to block her after about 10 minutes, and I'll just have to tell her that I changed my mind, and deleted my account, I guess.

  • 



    I really need to not bang Mary. My wife (Lord rest her soul) would not approve of that!! ... She does have some rather revealing photos on the site that are going to make this a much more difficult thing to resist than it already was. Let's just say that not all breasts sag in old age apparently. Who knew?

    



  • The other thing that I wish I could do, was pay for my membership via cheque, money order, or an envelope with cash in it. I'm not really into putting my credit card information online. So far so good though, and I've been told that things are safer these days.
