Well-off, incredibly well put together, and going to the gym every morning. Ha! That's not reality. I was about done with online dating until I stumbled across DatingForSeniors.com. I figured I'd try one more mature dating site, and see if it was any different from the ones that I had been trying. To my great surprise, as soon as I read the opening page, I saw myself in what they were saying. All of the complaints that I had, this site understood. It was incredible (and almost unbelievable). Had my computer been listening to me as I ranted to nobody in my apartment about how hard it was to date at my age? Had it heard me talking to my friend on the phone, telling him about how my last date needed me to cut her dinner up for her? That the one before that wanted me to climb a mountain with her? What is going on!?

DatingForSeniors.com is a really well put together site, that seems to have been made with the input of seniors. Most other mature dating sites I've used seem to have not really taken its audience into consideration. They feel like they're just a regular dating site with the words "Seniors" tacked onto it.

The site is also one of the most inclusive websites for seniors dating in the world. While most seniors dating sites typically only cater to straight singles, just about everyone is included in the fun here. Considering how many people of my generation have had to live their lives in the closet, it's great to see a site that recognizes and celebrates the fact that there are LGBTQ seniors out there who need love and companionship as well. One of my best friends didn't come out of the closet until he was 68.

A huge members database means that not only does the site include a wide variety of people, it also means that no matter how specific your tastes are, you're likely to find someone to spend time with on the site.

Pros

The great understanding of what a senior like myself is looking for in a dating website is the major selling point on the site for me, and even if that was all it had going for it, I'm sure I would still have signed up.
  
Other things that are truly impressive though include the massive membership that the site has amassed in its years of existence. There really isn't another mature dating site quite like this one, and the few that I've come across have all been much smaller sites with memberships that aren't substantial enough to work. Some of these other sites have single digit membership numbers in smaller towns and cities. I need a site that has enough members for me to date for longer than a couple weeks before having dated everyone (no matter how lovely) on the site.
  
The site design's simplicity while also not sacrificing its visual sense that I truly appreciated.
  
There are so many exciting ways to communicate with other members. Chat rooms, forums, private messages, flirts, and even live video and audio chat. The video and audio chat is a huge one, that I wish more sites included with their membership fees, because it's such a common way to communicate these days that dating sites without it seem about as old and out of touch as... well, other people my age. Seniors are starting to get great at using computers though. We have the spare time to learn!

Cons

There aren't many problems with the site. It's one of the best sites I've come across as a senior who's looking to find someone t spend my life with. The questions that it asks upon sign-up so that my membership drew the right people to it were very insightful, and I think have gone a long way towards helping me find hookups and dates in my limited time on the site so far. I tend to ramble on a little long, so when the questions are focused and concise, it makes everyone a better writer, and allows them to put their best foot forward when it comes to telling the other members what they're looking for.
  
Perhaps the two negatives that I'd maybe say if I had to were that it's a shame that th site isn't free. Of course the site is a lot of work, and it's doing a great job, but it's such a good site that I think about singles that I've met, who can't afford the membership fees, and I think about all of the great new friendships and potential love connections that they could be missing out on because they can't afford that fee.
  
And then related, though slightly contradictory, I wish that you could pay for memberships in chunks longer than 3 months. I'd sign-up for a 1 year membership without hesitation. Maybe they're worried that some of their members are getting so old that they don't want to commit to a full year in case they don't make it though.
